This workshop will present several different scenarios for getting students to improvise by using rhythm (clapping and percussion), words (storytelling and blues), and easy scales and harmonic patterns (Orff instruments, recorders, or band instruments). Participants will learn simple techniques to get themselves and their classes over that hump of timidness and into the excitement and joy of improvisation. This event is sponsored by the Jazz Institute of Chicago.
